This old, dark house was once the home of a satanic serial killer. Five years after he was gunned down by the police, a team of ghost hunters convinces the sole survivor of his brutal murder spree to return to the abandoned home to film an episode of Spectre Investigates. During filming, the crew stumbles upon a fairground fortune-telling machine known as The Harbinger. When the ghost hunters begin dying one by one in horrendous ways, the clock starts ticking. Can the survivors solve the mystery and stop the killing before the evil is reborn?

I might be using my creative license a little when describing Shogun Films’ Harbinger, but that’s only because it’s not finished yet. There is still work that needs to be done in post-production. Then comes promotion. But if you’re excited to see this movie, you can actually help get it finished. You might even wind up with your name in the credits.
Jonathan Sothcott, founder of Shogun Films, told Entertaining Options, “Having resisted the lure of crowdfunding our previous movies, Harbinger seems like the perfect project with which to embrace the huge value it offers filmmakers. Not only do we want to raise some money to really get the film out there in an increasingly over-saturated market, but we want to use this exercise to really raise awareness for the film.”

Harbinger was inspired by the classic British Hammer and Amicus horror films. The cast includes such iconic performers as Carole Ann Ford (Doctor Who, The Day of the Triffids), Gary Webster (Minder), Tony Sands (Moondial), and Peter Woodward (Crusade). Later this year, the film will be released worldwide by Trinity Content. Depending on your level of support, Shogun Films is offering such rewards as Blu-rays, posters, key rings, unique screen-used tarot cards from the Harbinger machine itself, and more.

“I grew up watching all the great British horror movies of the 60s and 70s,” Jonathan informed, “they’re in my blood you might say, but it isn’t the kind of film I’m really associated with (yet!) so we want to get this movie out there as far and as wide as possible. If you love Hammer and Amicus and all those kinds of films, I’m sure you’ll like this!”

It’s important to note that this isn’t Shogun Films’ first production. The company is known as one of the UK’s main creators of low-budget, high-quality, indie genre movies. Previous productions include Nemesis, Renegades, Doctor Plague, and Helloween. Additionally, Lee Majors, Ian Ogilvy, Patsy Kensit, Danny Trejo, Michael Paré, John Parker, and Martin Kemp have all appeared in Shogun Films movies. The company’s next release is a spy thriller, Knightfall, featuring Geoffrey Moore (Sir Roger Moore’s son).
