6 reasons we want a Grammy gift bag

What’s in the Grammy gift bag this year?

Many people spend a good portion of their free time searching for ways to make their life better. This can be through simple hacks, self-help books, therapists, life coaches, innovative products, and more. However, if consumers do not know that a product exists, they won’t know how it can benefit their lives. Unfortunately, people find commercials to be such an inconvenience that they are willing to pay extra not to watch them. In order to make the public aware of available products, marketing companies need to be creative.

Distinctive Assets is an LA-based entertainment marketing company that is celebrating a quarter century of partnership with the Recording Academy. It specializes in helping businesses grow through celebrity seeding. Distinctive Assets has an impressive resume of getting products featured at top-tier events, such as the Grammy Awards, the Latin Grammy Awards, the Tonys, the American Music Awards, the Kids’ Choice Awards, the BET Awards, the CMA Awards, the Academy of Country Music Awards, and more.

Dyson Zone

Some of the companies that Distinctive Assets works with are already established. For instance, this year’s list features products from Dyson, Garnier, L’Oréal Paris, Hasbro, and more. But the featured items are things you probably didn’t know existed. For instance, Dyson isn’t gifting vacuum cleaners. The company is giving away Dyson Zone, high fidelity, over-the-ear, noise-canceling headphones that last for up to 50 hours per charge.

Other companies featured in the Grammy gift bag (and in the Grammy Gift Lounge) are start-ups or home-grown businesses, such as Brownie Points, a successful baked-from-scratch sweets company that a teacher and insurance executive started in an apartment kitchen. These companies depend on exposure to grow (and survive). Securing placement in such a prominent program could be the make-or-break moment for individuals who had a dream to fill a void in the market with something fresh, innovative, healthy, earth-friendly, or just better.

Brownie Points

“It has been a privilege and honor to have been a small part of Music’s Biggest Night for 25 years,” Distinctive Assets founder Lash Fary expressed. “I believe our gifts are so well received because they range from functional to fabulous while embracing inclusivity and philanthropy. Our signature Grammy Gifts have become an anticipated perk for talent, and I’m particularly excited to share what we’ve curated this year.”

There are over 60 products and companies that made the cut. Some offerings are super-niche items that solve specific home-owner challenges, satisfy beauty needs, or fulfill daily nutritional requirements. Others are suitable for just about anyone — we are still loving Opopop’s gourmet, flavor-wrapped popcorn that was featured in last year’s gift bag. To give you a peek at the things that give us the most intense FOMO, products we’ll have to buy now that we know they exist, here’s a list of our favorite items in this year’s Grammy gift bag promotion.

Char Elizabeth wearing Oxygenetix Foundation

The goal of Oxygenetix is to bridge the gap between makeup and skincare. This means safe, medical-grade topicals and no more clogged pores. The Oxygenetix foundation is safe for sensitive skin and promotes oxygen uptake for cell rejuvenation. It comes in over a dozen tints to match your skin tone perfectly. Singer/songwriter/model Char Elizabeth, who tested the product, told Entertaining Options that Oxygenetix Foundation is “like a moisturizer and a foundation in one. It looks so natural, just like skin, and the color match is perfect. It melts into place and then doesn’t move all day, but it’s also easy to remove. Oxygenetix is perfect for women who want a natural-looking, buildable foundation.”

Photo from Bird Buddy

People are endlessly fascinated with wildlife. The best way to observe and capture the beauty of outdoor creatures is by unobtrusively observing. Bird Buddy’s Smart Bird Feeder lets you do exactly that. The AI-powered Bird Buddy is a 5 MP wide dynamic range camera built into a bird feeder that snaps and recognizes the birds (and other animals) that venture close to the camera. The rechargeable battery lasts up to two weeks, but you can also plug the model in or purchase the solar roof add-on for unlimited use (as long as there is exposure to sunlight).

BagCeit

Great ideas sell themselves. BagCeit is one of those: a simple product that solves a basic need. If you’ve got a purse or a briefcase that you carry with you every day, you don’t want to sit it down on an unclean surface so it can pick up germs and transfer them to you. BagCeit is a small, foldable, ultra light portable seat that you can open in an instant to keep your carry-along items from touching the floor or other potentially bacteria-infested surfaces.

Monopoly Knockout

Monopoly Knockout adds a little twist to the classic game, making it more about skill than the luck of the roll. In this action-packed version, players take turns sliding their tokens down the 3+ foot-long gameboard to land on properties to make (or lose) money (think shuffleboard). Monopoly Knockout is suitable for 2 to 8 players ages 8 and up, and a full game can be completed in as little as 20 minutes.

The OOVO Sing Ring employs variable resistance to help strengthen and improve your voice. You can use it for vocal therapy to improve your range, develop a stronger voice, practice quietly (without straining), support vocal recovery, or to quickly (and safely) warm up. The inventor of the Sing Ring came up with the idea for this vocal tool while working for the Grammy Museum’s Education Department, running Grammy Camp for high school students. An OOVO session can be completed in just 5 minutes.

3 Minute Happiness Journal

Wouldn’t it be wonderfully reassuring to know that happiness was only three minutes away? With Kristen Butler’s 3 Minute Happiness Journal (Power of Positivity) you can begin your journey to happy, thriving, and whole with prompts, affirmations and ways to boost your mood. Kristen’s method requires only 3 minutes in the morning and 3 minutes in the evening. If you do this for 90 days, you can create a solid foundation for a lifelong happiness habit. And who doesn’t want that?

The Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on Sunday, February 4, 2024, on the CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. You can stream the festivities live and on demand on Paramount+.
