Thun is a remarkable, well-preserved historical town located in the Canton of Bern in Switzerland. It features a 12th-century castle and a gorgeous lake that is roughly 10 miles long. The respectful, community-focused population moves at a slower pace than larger Swiss cities, with many enjoying an active lifestyle that includes outdoor activities on and around the lake and in the nearby mountains. With a population of only about 44,000 people, this unassuming locale is not where you’d expect to find a rising champion who is preparing to compete on a global stage. But this is where Veronica Fusaro, Switzerland’s artist of choice for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, was born and raised.
Veronica expressed, “I am extremely happy and honoured to represent Switzerland at Eurovision. It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share my music on a beautiful stage like that, with people from all over watching.”
Every song Veronica creates is a wonder. She plunders genres, taking what she needs to build rich sonic landscapes that are fresh and vibrant. Her arrangements are economical, her technique is precise, and her creativity is a boundless adventure that encourages you not just to live, but to feel alive.

Veronica’s latest album, Looking for Connection, was released in October 2025. It reflects her growing desire for authenticity in a digitally overstimulated world. The irresistible grooves provide an effervescent terrain for the artist’s immaculate vocals to leap and pirouette in an extraordinary celebratory dance.
Veronica was kind enough to answer a few questions for Entertaining Options so we could get to know her a little better and find the connection that establishes her authenticity.
Do you have other creative pursuits or hobbies that you use to express yourself?
Cooking is definitely a creative outlet for me. I like the process, the simplicity of it, and the fact that it brings people together.
What do you do when you need to recharge your creativity?
I slow things down. I spend time living life. Offline. I spend time with people I trust, cook, eat together, and talk. That kind of closeness gives me energy again.
Do you prefer writing or performing?
It really depends on where I am in life. I love the writing part, the process of creating something from nothing. When a song finally clicks, that feeling is rare and beautiful. Nothing really compares to it.
But then taking that song into a room full of real people and feeling it come back at you, that’s something else. Writing is intimate. Performing turns it into connection. I don’t think I could choose one without the other.
What advice do you have for anyone who might be struggling with their career or life choices?
Take the time to figure out what feels honest to you. Not what looks good from the outside, not what you think you should want. Listen to yourself; believe in yourself.
What do you hope to accomplish with your music? Why is music important to you?
I hope my music makes people feel something. Because that’s the beauty of life. Feelings. Emotions.
