It is so rewarding to find an artist with genuine talent and love for creating and performing, like Summer Scott. She’s the real deal. Summer has been singing since she was 4 years old and she released her first EP of original music when she was just 13. Now, roughly a decade later, Summer continues to mesmerize fans with her original music. Her latest single, “STUCK,” is a hard-driving anthem that showcases her impressive vocal range and scorching passion for performing.

According to Summer, “‘STUCK’ is a perfect example of rock meeting technology, capturing the feeling of being creatively and personally ‘stuck.’ I wanted it to reflect that scared, overwhelmed moment without a resolution — honest to the emotion I was experiencing.”
Everything about Summer is genuine and exciting, from her striking talent to her scintillating style. She brings to mind celebrated artists, such as Amy Lee, Ava Max, and P!nk, but her voice is uniquely her own. Summer is a vocalist with impressive technique and control. Her versatility gives her the ability to captivate an intimate crowd at a songwriter night or get hearts pumping and bodies moving on the dance floor. Given the chance, we believe she could bring an entire arena of fans to their feet in admiration.
Summer was kind enough to answer questions about her life, her musical journey, her creative process, her dream collabs, and more. Get to know her and learn why Entertaining Options believes she is an artist who is going to do incredible things in 2026 and beyond.
Can you give us a brief overview of your musical journey so far?
I’ve been singing since I was four years old, often singing along with my twin brother in the car. My mom noticed early on and enrolled me in a singing group, which led to my first end-of-year performance — when my family realized this was something special. I personally recognized singing as both a passion and a strength after performing “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus at my first-grade talent show.
Since then, I’ve explored a wide range of genres and settings: rock and jazz bands in high school, choir throughout school and college, and an a cappella group in college (where I served as musical director). I wrote and released my first EP at 13 and have been writing and recording original music ever since, bringing it into the studio more seriously starting at age 20. While balancing college made it difficult to focus fully on music promotion, after graduating I was able to lock in and actively promote the work I had been creating.

Your voice is incredibly strong, confident, and powerful. Are you a self-taught or a formally trained vocalist?
I’ve been in vocal training for most of my life, beginning at age four. While I took a longer break due to school, work, and life responsibilities, I received extensive early training and returned to formal coaching as a solo artist at 23. Even during the gap, I carried the skills and musical knowledge I’d built into every creative moment.
When did you realize this was your calling?
I realized music was my calling at a young age, even though obstacles occasionally slowed my path. I never doubted my talent, only my readiness to be fully seen. With time and growth, I’ve learned that outside opinions don’t matter when you only get one life to give your all. I’ve always known this is what I’m meant to do, and I’m committed to continuing to chase it wholeheartedly.
How would you describe your music?
I think my music speaks for itself. I talk a lot about independence, quiet strength, overcoming “haters,” and finding yourself and peace through standing in your own truth and honesty.
How do you care for your voice?
College isn’t the most voice-friendly environment. Between late nights studying, exams, rehearsals, and social time, it’s hard to prioritize vocal health. Loud environments, talking over music, laughing, and lack of sleep all take a toll on your voice. Outside of vocal training, my advice is to stay hydrated, avoid straining your voice in loud environments, and prioritize sleep whenever possible. Vitamin C has also been helpful for me in supporting my vocal health as an artist.
Do you write and produce your own material?
I am the sole songwriter on all my projects; every lyric is mine and deeply personal. You hear a one-woman show when it comes to storytelling and lyrics. I was an English major with a concentration in creative writing, so writing has always been my thing! I also co-produce my music alongside an incredible engineer who helps bring my creative visions to life.
Do you have a process or a philosophy when it comes to writing songs?
Each song I write is different. “Too Far” came together during a pivotal time in my life, with fragments of poems and lyrics scattered across my notebook. In the studio, I pieced them together like a puzzle until the emotional core of the song became clear. Much of my writing comes from late-night thoughts, melody loops, half-asleep ideas, dreams, or personal experiences. Life fuels my art, and my art reflects life.
Which part of the creative process is the most natural for you?
I feel most myself in the studio, building a song. When an idea clicks and translates perfectly into the mic or system, it’s an incredible, almost indescribable high. I used to stress hearing myself sing, but now leaving the booth and listening to my songs in my car is one of the most rewarding feelings.
What tips do you have for aspiring vocalists and songwriters?
Reconnect with the person you were as a child and stay true to that version of yourself. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in my twenties is to live so authentically that your eight-year-old self would be proud. Don’t worry about being misunderstood or judged. Write the words that move you — they’ll move someone else too. Create the art, post the videos, and represent yourself honestly. You have to be fearless, a little shameless, and willing to go for it if this is truly what you want.
Are there any fun facts about Summer Scott that you’d like to share?
I grew up splitting my time every six months between Florida and New England, which shaped my perspective and identity. Outside of music, I love writing, fashion, boating, and spending time at the beach. I appreciate simple joys like getting coffee and am a huge fan of mystery shows — I’ll binge an entire eight-hour series in one sitting!
What are some of your most recent career highlights?
Over the past six months, I’ve been thrilled by the positive response to my music on social media. In December, I reached 10.6K monthly listeners on Spotify, which was a milestone that made me really proud. One of my older songs, “Better On My Own,” also began receiving the attention it deserves — it’s one of my favorite pieces.
What is your goal as an artist?
My goal is to reach as many people as possible through my music. Music is my entire world, and the greatest compliment is hearing that someone relates to or feels seen by one of my songs. This year is shaping up to be the biggest of my career so far. I’m working on new projects, expanding my social media presence, and continuing to grow as an artist.
Are there any artists you’d love to work with?
I’d love to work with Julia Michaels — I’ve followed her journey for 10 years and admire her as a writer and artist. Amy Allen [Read Amy’s interview with Entertaining Options.] is another phenomenal songwriter whose vibe I love. I’ve never co-written a song before, so it would be a new experience, but this year, I’m open to anything and everything.
Do you have any other advice for aspiring artists?
Be open to constructive criticism, trust your gut, keep a thick skin, and always stay true to yourself.
Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?
Thank you for listening, saving my songs, and adding them to your playlists! It truly means the world. I have so much more in store this year and can’t wait to keep creating. Music is my whole world, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me.
What’s the best way for people to follow and support you?
The best way to follow me is on social media (TikTok and Instagram: @summerscottmusic) and on Spotify or Apple Music. I read and respond to comments, so let me know what you love and what you want more of — I bring all that inspiration into my writing and the studio.
