The instant that shadows stretch a little longer and the nights fall a little faster, and there’s that glorious fragrance of decomposing leaves as the soil devours their nutrients, horror fans get a thrill in their tummy that feels like butterflies. But it’s probably just moths gnawing away from the inside. It’s our time. A brief season when the world embraces darkness and revels in the unnatural. What a perfect time for Blumhouse to team up with AMC to offer screenings of iconic horror films — some new and some not-so-new.

The six-week festival kicks off on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024 with Paranormal Activity (written and directed by Oren Peli). This is the film’s first one-night only national re-release. BlumFest runs until Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024 when the featured movie will be Five Nights At Freddy’s (written by Scott Cawthon, Seth Cuddeback and Emma Tammi and directed by Emma Tammi).
Throughout the festival, Blumhouse fans can attend special screenings each Wednesday night at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. (local time). Tickets are available at a discounted rate, and all attendees will receive a special poster giveaway commemorating this year’s lineup. Additionally, attendees can expect exclusive sneak peeks and recorded messages from the directors and talent associated with the films.

“This whole month is a love letter to Halloween and our fans, and we’re grateful to our partners at AMC for joining us for BlumFest, our annual October celebration of all things Blumhouse,” Jason Blum, Founder and CEO of Blumhouse stated. “I can’t believe we’re already celebrating the 15th anniversary of Paranormal Activity, because it feels like we’re just getting started.”
Elizabeth Frank, EVP of Worldwide Programming and Chief Content Officer at AMC Theatres added, “Though AMC entertains Blumhouse film fans year-round, the Halloween season makes horror movies even more fun. We’re excited to bring the BlumFest celebration to the big screen with fan favorite movies and unique extra content.”
