The giant, inflatable Spider Donut is now available at Dunkin’
Someone at Dunkin’ deserves an award for their smartketing skills. Today, the company officially enters the wonderful world of inflatable décor. Starting at noon EDT, you can purchase a six-foot-tall inflatable version of the company’s iconic Spider Donut at ShopDunkin.com.
During the day, this bold orange “O” with the big, brown spider center makes a fun and festive Halloween yard decoration. However, once twilight arrives, the eerie glow turns this oversized treat into a frightful night light that will delight, making your home the envy of neighborhood Halloween superfans. It will also ensure your home will be a neighborhood trick-or-treat destination on the big night.
In a press release, Kemma Kefalas, Director of Brand Engagement at Dunkin’, said, “Our Spider Donut has increasingly become a symbol of the Halloween spirit here at Dunkin’. Every October, we watch our guests celebrate the spooky season with Spider Donuts in hand. This year, we wanted to create a new and out-of-the-donut-box way for Spider Donut superfans to showcase their love for the season with this inflatable masterpiece.”
But that’s not all Dunkin’ is doing to celebrate the season. On Wednesday, October 11, the normal-sized (edible) pider Donut will return to Dunkin’ restaurants nationwide. This version fits in your hand and your mouth. The popular yeast treat is covered with orange icing and features a chocolate Munchkin in the center with chocolate drizzle for legs and white drizzle for eyes.
And if that’s still too big, next week, customers can also purchase a limited-edition Spider Donut Keychain at participating Dunkin’ restaurants.
If you suffer from arachnophobia, don’t worry. Dunkin’ has a few treats for you too. The Halloween Sprinkle Takeover will turn your favorite iced donut (chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry) into a seasonal sweet with chocolate and orange sprinkles. And if you want something to wash down the crumbs, consider a Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte.
From now through October 30, Dunkin’ Rewards members can get a free medium Hot or Iced Coffee on Mondays with purchase. There is a limit of one per member, participation may vary, and additional terms and exclusions may apply. Members can also access such rewards as a $2 Medium Cold Brew and a $1 off a half dozen Classic Donuts. For a limited time, members who order ahead using the Dunkin’ app on Wednesdays can earn 100 bonus points. And there are even bigger rewards for members who visit their favorite location more than 12 times per month.
